Number plans in the ACD are used to directly reach destinations, similar to the extension node of a routing plan.

While extension nodes are rather intended to route directly to a group with a call plan behind it, number plans are usually used to dial an agent directly.

You can access the administration of number plans via *Configuration → Number Plan*.

## Linking with a phone number

The number plan is linked to the desired phone number in the phone number management like a hotline in [telegra CONTROL](https://telegra.refined.site/page/telegra-control). The extensions defined in the number plan are then automatically taken into account when a call is made to the phone number extension.

> ⚠️ When configuring your number plan, please note that in Germany phone numbers may have a maximum length of **13 digits**. Otherwise there may be problems with reachability.

## Attributes

Just like with a hotline, you first define some basic rules for the number plan. These settings then apply to all incoming calls to one of the extensions defined here.

## Configure the numbering plan

In the actual number plan, you define which destination is to be reached after each configured extension number. As in the routing plan of a hotline, you can switch an agent, a group or an announcement behind each extension.

Furthermore, you can configure an overflow scenario behind each destination of an extension, if desired also from several destinations connected in series.

It is also important to provide the output "default" with a destination. This routing branch is triggered when the phone number is called without extension.
