Administrators can define text blocks as templates to be used in agent responses to contacts in the contact center.

When an agent responds to a customer with an email or in a chat, they can select a predefined text block to be inserted into the body of the email or chat message, if required. The text block is inserted at the cursor position in the email/chat message and can contain placeholders that the agent can fill in using the rich text editor.

Administrators must have the ***Channel Assets: Modify*** permission to create and manage text blocks.

### Create and edit text blocks

- Click ***Agent Assets → Text Blocks*** in the menu bar. A list of defined text blocks is displayed.
- Click **Add**.
- The **New Text Block** page is displayed.
- Enter the name of the text block (up to 200 characters).
- Under **Content**, enter the content of the text block. All Unicode characters are allowed, including spaces and accented characters. Use the Rich Text Editor to format the text as desired.
- So that the text block can be used as an email template:
  - Select the Template check box.
For Type, select Email from the drop-down list.
For Sender Email Address, enter the default email address of the sender.
For Subject, define the default subject of the email.
To specify that the agent can change the content, sender email address, and subject of the email template before sending the email, select the** Editable check box**.
- Click **Add**.

> ℹ️ **Note: **A text module must be assigned to a queue before it can be used by agents assigned to that queue.
