### Step 1:

A website visitor uses his web browser to open a web page where the web chat is available. Depending on the setting, a chat window opens either immediately or with the delay you configure:

> 📝 **Note:** If needed, an administrator can make the following settings in the webchat snippet (***Chat → Chat Services → Webchat Snippet***):
> 📝
> 📝 - The color of the chat button
> 📝 - The time delay before the chat window is automatically displayed to the visitor
> 📝 - The name of the service that will be displayed in the chat window

### Step 2:

The routing plan configured behind the chat service is controlled. The following actions can be set here:

- Sending an initial message (e.g. a welcome text). You configure this in the **Send Chat Message node**.
- Sending the chat to the **queue** configured in the **Chat Flow**.

### Step 3:

The visitor enters a message. As soon as an available agent is found, the message is delivered. The website visitor and the agent can now chat with each other.

### Step 4:

During or at the end of a chat, the visitor can save the chat history locally in TXT format. The agent can also post the chat history to the visitor's chat in the same format.
