Incoming web chats are handled by a chat service. The chat service determines which queue to target and also generates the web snippet to include the code for the chat window on your website.

---

### Create and edit a Chat Service

- Click ***Chat → Chat Services*** in the menu bar. A list of chat services that are currently defined is displayed.
- Click **Add**. The New Chat Service page is displayed.
- Enter the name of the chat service (up to 100 characters), for example, the type of service it is used for.
- Define an additional name for the chat service's chat inbox (up to 100 characters). This is a unique identifier that will be used by the web client to access the chat service. The access name must be unique within the contact center.
- Create a short description of the chat service (up to 250 characters).
- Select the chat routing plan from the drop-down list.
- Click the **Webchat Snippet button** to display the code for the snippet, which must be placed in the head code on your website. You can copy the code to the clipboard so that a website administrator can take it and paste it into the desired websites.

---

### Customization of the webchat snippet

You can customize the chat window and its code according to your corporate colors. You can also specify in the code of the snippet whether the chat button should only appear after a certain number of seconds.
