The telegra Contact Center supports both the processing of incoming e-mails and the sending of e-mails by agents or automatic replies.

Administrators can define mailboxes and underlying routing plans and queues for emails.

The contact center receives email by polling a list of POP3 and/or IMAP servers at regular intervals. The system sends outgoing e-mails via an SMTP server.

When an email arrives at the contact center, it is assigned to an email queue. The destination email address is used to select the appropriate contact center queue. Incoming emails appear in the contact center queues alongside traditional voice calls.

In essence, an email is handled and routed in almost the same way as an incoming voice call.
