Administrators can control whether agents who belong to a particular agent group have the ability to specify how they are contacted (how they receive incoming calls and/or make outgoing calls) when they log in.

When agents log in, they can select the contact method(s) through which they receive (or make) calls for the groups they are in.

To configure agent contact methods, company administrators must have the privilege ***Groups: Modify***.

> ⚠️ The contact methods can also be configured per agent. If settings are made on the agent, these always have priority over the settings at group level!

How to configure contact methods for agents:

### Guidance for the definition of contact methods on group level

1. Click **Staff → Groups** in the menu bar. A list of currently defined agent groups is displayed.
2. Select the appropriate agent group (or add a new group).
3. Click on the **Agent Contact** tab.
4. Select the appropriate checkboxes to specify how agents in this group can receive incoming calls and/or make outgoing calls. The options are:

- Browser softphone - via the WebRTC softphone built into your Agent Portal.
- Default number - via a configured phone number, such as your existing phone number. This PSTN number is fixed and cannot be changed by the agent.
- Private contact number - via a private phone number.
- Enter a complete number - via a complete PSTN number. An agent can enter his full PSTN number during registration. He will then receive his calls from this number (or make calls using this number). This option is used when agents do not have a fixed desk and need to enter the full number they use (Free Seating).
- Enter an extension number - using an extension number. An agent can enter any extension number at logon by completing the number using a fixed prefix. He will then receive his calls from this extension number. This option is used when agents do not have a fixed desk and need to enter the number of the extension they use. If you check this box, you must also specify the extension prefix.
- Disabled - None of the checkboxes are selected, so agents cannot specify how they want to receive or make calls.
